Jessica Dover - Trumpet

Growing up in Colorado, Jessica was recognized early on for her musical expression as a pianist and vocalist, but especially on the trumpet. In middle and high school, she spent several summers at the Interlochen Arts Camp and graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy after spending her senior year of high school there, where she studied with Stanley Friedman. From Michigan, she went to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied under Mario Guarneri and performed in SFCO’s orchestra, new music ensemble, brass ensemble, brass quintet, and performed with multiple ensembles in the Bay Area both as through SFCO’s Hire program and as a freelance musician. She completed her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she studied with Terry Sawchuck and performed in multiple ensembles both in and outside of the institution, including with the Colorado Wind Ensemble and the Front Range Brass Quintet. A lover of languages (including music), she spent the summer after her college graduation in Mexico, and eventually pursued court, medical, and translation certifications, and now owns her own business as an independent Spanish/English interpreter and translator.

Jessica has continued to perform since moving to Portland, devoting much of her musical energy to her singing with the Three Ds and performing on trumpet with the Portlandia Brass Ensemble and now with Bridge City Brass.
